Composition & Feed Guide

Feed: 35g/100kg bodyweight daily - 175g daily for a 500kg horse.

  • 1-level 75ml scoop = 49-grams; 3-½ scoops = 175g.
  • 1-year shelf life.
  • A 5kg pouch will last a 500kg horse 28-days.

New to minerals? Try our 1kg Trial Bag to start with, and always start slow, a pinch at a time, slowly building up to your RDA.

Composition: A 175g measure will provide :

12g Magnesium (Magnesium Oxide), 100g micronised Linseed, 10g Sea-Salt (Soil association certified), 10g L-Lysine, 5g Phosphorous (Monosodium Phosphate), 3g Methionine, 1200mg Zinc (Sulphate), 400mg Copper (Sulphate), 1mg Selenium (Sodium Selenium), 2000iu Vitamin E * (All r ac-alpha tocopheryl acetate)

- Analysis displays the elemental mineral volumes.

  • Analytical Constituents: Calcium 0.6%, Phosphorous 2.8%, Sodium 4.6%, Lysine 6.1%, Methionine 1.9%, Crude Protein 20.0%, Crude Fibre 5.7%, Crude Oil & Fats 24.2%, Crude Ash 35.1%.
  • Additives (Per Kg): Vitamins: Vitamin E (all rac-alpha tocopheryl acetate) (3a700) 27972 mg/kg. NB: All-rac-a-Tocopheryl Acetate is the 50/50 synthetic form of Vitamin E. Alpha-tocopheryl acetate is more resistant to oxidation during storage than unesterified tocopherols. The bioavailability of alpha-tocopherol from alpha-tocopheryl acetate is roughly equivalent to that of free alpha-tocopherol. See here for the different forms of vit.E.
  • Trace Elements: Selenium, (Sodium Selenium 3b801) 6mg/kg, Copper (Copper (II) sulphate pentahydrate 3b405) 2254mg/kg, Zinc (Zinc sulphate monohydrate 3b605) 6761mg/kg.

Recommended

  • During winter, the essential fatty acids, omegas 3 and 6, are depleted in winter grazing and hay, so horses not on fresh grass will have a dietary deficiency of omega-3. Micronised Linseed comes in at the same omega-3 profile as fresh growing grass, with 20g linseed/100kg bodyweight matching this deficiency. Rest assured that our VitaComplete is formulated to this same value.
  • Salt always needs to be fed to the horse. As per the NRC Guidelines (2007), a 500kg horse has a daily requirement of at least 10g sodium and 40mg chloride on a cool day doing no work, and at least double this on a hot day/in hard work/sweating. So as not to make our VitaComplete taste completely of salt, we include 10g certified organic salt in the formula, but you may wish to add more yourself when needed.

Customer Feedback

  • 16.8.24 - I’ve mean meaning to message you to say thankyou. I honestly cannot believe the difference in my pony since starting the VitaComplete and MetaTonic. She struggled so much on the stones after going barefoot after her first and only ever lami episode last march (2023) and was still struggling with thin soles in Feb (2024) when I contacted you. Since then and with time and patience and trying to get her diet as good as I possibly can, whilst also keeping her quality of life with the options I have at my livery yard (aka still at grass most days) she can walk across stones without her boots on now if need be😆I’m over the moon. I genuinely can’t believe she’s managed to be barefoot 17 months later. So thankyou very much. I will always vouch for Equinatural where I can! Leanne Davis
  • 27.9.22- Brilliant stuff, the shine on my horse since he's started it has been amazing. Looking forward to seeing the results of them being on it longter. Leann
  • 28.4.22- Since I’ve been using your balancer my boy's split in one foot is finally growing out. It’s been there a few years, no change with (two other well-known mineral balancer companies). JW
  • 8.2.22- Just to let you know, I'm really happy with the supplement - my mare always gets compliments on her 'mint' feet from farriers! And sometimes she looks so shiny that I wonder if there's something wrong! I never groom her, just lots of scratches, and brush off the saddle area if I ride. I've recently acquired two yearling minis, can't wait to get them on the same road. Julia B.
  • 3.4.19- You always provide excellent service and your products are I believe the best around. Maddie my rising 5 IDSH had been having EquiVita since September last year just after I bought her and she has come through the winter in excellent health and condition, nice and lean coming into the spring, though she isn't doing much work as yet due to her age. Maddie is barefoot and your products have played a role in her having excellent horn quality. Best regards, Mandy
  • 20.7.18- Just wanted to give you an update on my mare since you kindly 're-planned' her diet! Since been on the Equivita balancer just 10weeks, her feet are rock hard, maintained the shape & strength even with this persistant dry spell were having. She can walk on any surface including stony tracks, & is self trimming too. Thank you so much for your advice, Clare & Stardust
