Cushings

Our comprehensive range of functional supplements, specifically formulated to support your horse's therapeutic Cushing's/PPID care routine.

One of the many symptoms of Cushings is reduced levels of dopamine, which then impacts pituitary function and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, often with increased levels of cortisol.

The recognised pharma drug, Prascend, is designed to improve dopamine levels, but it doesn't suit all horses. We've formulated two proprietary herbal blends to cover both options, i.e. if your horse is not on Prascend - our CushTonic Mk.1, or on Prascend - our CushTonic Mk.2.

Both our blends are formulated to enhance overall nerve, brain and pituitary health, to target nerve function through antioxidant and anti-inflammatory support. Our CushTonic Mk.1, however, is designed to naturally supplement and increase dopamine levels via Mucuna pruriens, a natural, safe source of L-DOPA which enhances circulating dopamine levels in the body.

🌱 CUSHTONIC MK.1 – do not feed if your horse is on Prascend, as it may result in an over-production of dopamine, resulting in possible side effects.
🌱 CUSHTONIC MK.2 – safe to feed if your horse is on Prascend, as it doesn't include Mucuna pruriens.
🌱 METATONIC – our primary EMS/IR herbal support, known for supporting blood glucose and insulin levels. *Feed at opposite ends of the day to our CushTonic blends.
🌱 ACETYL L CARNITINE (ALCAR) – supports IR/leptin resistance.
🌱 L TYROSINE – supports the production of dopamine.
