What is KPU?

Cryptopyrroluria (KPU) is a widespread, multi-metabolic detoxification disorder often referred to as "the disease with a thousand faces" due to its extensive range of symptoms. These can include persistent gut issues, skin and hoof problems, musculoskeletal challenges, unexplained swelling, and more.

At its root, KPU stems from a disrupted hindgut microbiome, leading to a deficiency in Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P5P), the activated form of vitamin B6. This deficiency impairs the liver's detoxification process, allowing toxins to accumulate and disrupt overall health.
