Product Details

To promote a healthy gut membrane mucosa, there are two specific amino acids known to support the repair of this fragile tissue.

L Glutamine is a building block for proteins that maintain cellular health and tissue repair, and N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC), being the precursor to glutathione, the body's master antioxidant, which helps protect the body from cellular damage caused by free radicals.

Key Benefits

Supports the permeable intestinal wall membrane.

Leaky gut.

Gastric ulcers.

Glutathione production.

Details

L Glutamine is a building block for proteins that maintain cellular health and tissue repair. During critical illness, trauma, intestinal disease, starvation, excessive loss of lean body mass, or extreme endurance exercise, glutamine is shown to be beneficial thanks to it's key role in the process of regenerating new, healthy epithelial cells in the GI mucosa lining.

L-Glutamine is so important to gut health that low concentrations are linked to gut permeability and inflammation. This makes its supplementation an important part of resolving leaky gut because it’s the preferred food of the cells lining the gut wall so it helps with their growth and repair; it's these new cells that are the key in repairing the intestines and eliminating leaky gut. It also helps maintain the right pH balance.

In human health glutamine is reported to typically start to show effects within 30 days, with the gut lining repaired in around 12-weeks.

Glutamine also effectively works in synergy with NAC to help promote glutathione.

Next up, N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC) , the precursor to glutathione, the body's master antioxidant, which helps protect the body from damage to cells caused by free radicals. NAC is arguably the most powerful antioxidant in the body as it replenishes glutathione production.

We also include Marshmallow Root , used as a remedy for centuries to treat digestive conditions. It can help in the repair of leaky gut as it actively promotes the growth of intestinal cells with research showing promise in its antioxidant properties and gastroprotective effects for ulcers.

  • 24.3.23- Hi Carol, Just wanted to big up your Gut Aminos which once again have saved the day for us. My mare decided to pick a fight with a gate a few weeks ago while feeling in season and feisty (a pesky boy was the other side!) resulting in box rest and insistence from the vet for antibiotics (wound very close proximity to her hock joint). This is a mare with a mega sensitive gut who’s also unfortunately accident prone, and I had got her totally sorted and stable a few months prior to this so was devastated to put her on antibiotics as I knew what the result would be, I hopefully pumped as much good stuff in as I could and crossed my fingers. A few weeks after finishing the antibiotics and tell tale signs began to show of right flank sensitivity and some pretty acrobatic displays in the school along with a generally sad and withdrawn demeanour creeping in. I ordered your Gut Aminos which I’ve used to help her with convalescence before and 2 days on the sensitivity is much reduced and she’s back to being happy and friendly. Thanks so much! Scarlett and Cilla

  • 24.2.22 - SIBO-CARE, GutAminos & P5P I just ... I dont know what to say, I mean maybe you think I’m a crazy Swede LOL … I think I was hallucinating because after the first morning dose, in the afternoon she already in her eyes and body language looked "better". Her posture was upright, and yesterday afternoon, day 2, she ran like crazy and rolled on the ground and was strong with energy! Today, day 3, she stretched her body (hasn’t done that for a long time) and ate her steamed hay with a good appetite and not just picking through it.The first night my husband said, “Look at her poop! It’s better.” I thought it was maybe just a lucky one, but day 2’s poop is already 50% better in colour and shape. Gas, absolutely better already.C´mon. For real?! LOL … Is it even possible? I know you said you couldn’t promise me anything, but this is too good to be true. I cried this morning because if this is true, then I can already see the light and the hope for this girl and our future. Thank you so much! Janet & Lilly, Sweden

  • 26.1.20- I've had my ulcer prone mare on GutAminos since November and I'm over the moon with results. I thought I was going to have to go down the Omeprazole route again but came across your product while researching natural ways to manage equine ulcers. Carol M.
