Particularly beneficial for horses prone to Equine Recurrent Uveitis (ERU) and other common eye challenges, EyeTonic helps maintain clear, healthy, and comfortable eyes.
✨ “The specialist was amazed - virtually all signs of ERU gone, and even a cataract had shrunk!”
The equine eye is the largest of any land mammal, and a beautiful thing to behold. Clear and bright, the lids tight, and a pale pink, most interior. A horse never winks, so if your horse has one eye partially or completely closed, this could indicate discomfort or an underlying issue.
For optimal eye health, maintaining overall immunity is key. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) describes the eyes as the windows to the inner workings of the body, and thought to be connected to all of the internal organs. Each part of the eye is associated with a particular element and corresponding Yang organ, i.e. The iris is represented by the liver; the heart to the corners of the eyes; the upper and lower eyelids to the spleen; the conjunctiva the lungs; finally the pupil to the kidneys.
🌿 Supports Tear Balance: Helps manage excessive tear production (lacrimation).
🌿 General Eye Concerns: Assists with sticky eye, pink eye, and conjunctivitis.
🌿 Equine Recurrent Uveitis (ERU):
Provides effective targeted nutritional support for this serious eye condition.
We’ve seen first-hand how EyeTonic can make a difference. We originally formulated it for our Cookie, who was prone to sticky eyes in winter and during high pollen counts.
Then in 2019 we rehabbed another mare, little Pops, who arrived with persistent ‘pink eye’ and profuse tear production that often turned crusty. Despite our best efforts with masks and wiping, she would rub her eyes, increasing the bacterial risk.
After starting her on the EyeTonic, there was noticed improvement within 24 hours - her eyes were clearer and healthier, and she was far more comfortable. She never looked back from thereon.
EyeTonic is a nutritional food supplement and not veterinary medicine. For more on this, see Dr Kellon's article - Nutrition is not 'Alternative' Therapy .
