• Feed 5g/100kg bodyweight per day, i.e. 25g for a 500kg horse.

In September 2014, just two weeks after Carmen came to live with us, our vet told us that our beautiful, then 7yo chestnut TB mare had developed joint sepsis in her fetlock from a historic infected wound we'd inherited.

The vet gave her only a 5% chance of recovery with antibiotics and explained that if there was no improvement within 48 hours, we would have no choice but to have her put to sleep.
