Product Details

* Formulated for the horse not on Prascend as it includes Agnus castus and Mucuna pruriens, neither of which should be fed alongside Prascend. If your horse is on Prascend, see our CushTonic Mk.2 .

A synergistic blend of organic nutrient-rich phytonutrients, known to help support the endocrine system.

One of the many symptoms of Cushings is reduced levels of dopamine, which then impacts pituitary function and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, often with increased levels of cortisol.

The recognised pharma drug, Prascend, is designed to improve dopamine levels, but it doesn't suit all horses. Our two proprietary Cushings blends are formulated to enhance overall nerve, brain and pituitary health, through antioxidant and anti-inflammatory support, and cover both options, whether your horse is taking, or not taking Prascend.

  • Our CushTonic Mk.1 is designed for the horse not on Prascend, to naturally supplement dopamine via Mucuna pruriens, a source of L-DOPA which enhances circulating dopamine levels in the body.
  • If your horse is taking Prascend, feed our CushTonic Mk.2. Do not feed our CushTonic Mk.1 to the horse taking Prascend.

Details

Cushing's disease/PPID results from a benign tumour on the pituitary gland, the Grand Master of all the glands in the endocrine (hormone) system.

The pituitary gland tells all the other glands what to do, as well as what hormones to release, so if the pituitary gland's function becomes disrupted, so has the entire hormone signalling. This particularly affects the adrenal gland hormones - adrenalin and cortisol - and when these two are permanently out of kilter, they need stabilising, quickly, and permanently.

  • 11.2.24 - ( 24yo mare after first month on our CushTonic). She's looking great, feeling well and back in moderate work (lack of rider time). She thinks she is ready for badminton! MW
  • 28.2.23 CushTonic with Tyrosine & MetaTonic Hi Carol, we have had excellent results with the herbs! Our horse, Pistachio, loves his herbs and Vitacomplete, no longer tests positive for Cushings and has nearly grown out of his laminitis hooves. Next we’ll evaluate him for a barefoot trim. Our vet is very happy indeed! As is Pistachio!!Thank you so very much! Wendy

  • Happy! I'm very happy to write this review as I'm so happy myself! Our daughter's pony, Rosie, now retired and a much loved family pet, was diagnosed with Cushings last year after we noticed she hadn't shed her winter coat and seemed very depressed with no zest for life. I was recommended to you and have had her on a maintenance dose of your CUshTonic for the past few months, and am delighted to report that this Easter weekend the family spent many happy moments grooming Rosie and pulling much self-shedding winter coat out! She's so much happier in herself as well, no longer standing alone witha sad face looking like Eeyore. As a family we're so very grateful to have found you. Thank you thank yuou, and we're looking forward to many more happy, comfortable years for our beloved girl. The Barber family, GLos.
