Did you know that the hoof capsule is 25% water, and the soles 33% water? Hooves need water to stay hydrated, strong, and elastic. Adding oil to hooves can reject moisture, causing them to dry out and become brittle. This is why we use Aloe Vera gel as our base instead of oil.

During the spring/summer hard ground season, horse's hooves, whether shod or unshod, may need some protection to sustain circulation in the limbs and lessen the laminitis risk.
